Christianity is legally recognized and permitted as an officially practiced religion in Kuwait, making it one of the more religiously tolerant nations in the Gulf region. The government officially recognizes several traditional Christian denominations—including the Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Armenian Orthodox, and Protestant churches—allowing expatriate Christian communities to worship openly within designated places of worship. While proselytizing Muslims or distributing non-Islamic religious literature to Muslims is strictly prohibited by law, registered Christian congregations operate freely to serve the large population of foreign workers residing in the country.
