To reboot an Ecobee thermostat, simply pull the physical display unit straight off its mounting wall plate, wait approximately ten to fifteen seconds for the device to shut down completely, and then carefully push it straight back onto the base plate until it clicks. The thermostat will display a startup screen and re-establish its system connections within a couple of minutes without losing your customized schedule settings.
