By default, the Ecobee thermostat screen dims or turns off completely when it does not detect motion nearby to prevent screen burn-in and save energy. However, you can easily change this behavior through the settings menu by navigating to Preferences, selecting Screen Brightness or Sleep Settings, and configuring the standby display to remain lit continuously if preferred. Verification: Observe the screen to ensure it stays illuminated according to your customized preference.
