Yes, please in German is Ja, bitte. It is very simple and is used constantly in everyday life. Ja means yes and bitte means please and also you are welcome depending on context. When pronounced together it sounds like Yah, bit-uh. You would use it when someone offers you something. For example Möchten Sie einen Kaffee Do you want a coffee, you answer Ja, bitte. If you want to be extra polite you can say Ja, bitte sehr or Ja, gerne which means yes, gladly, or Ja, bitte gern. In a shop when asked if you need a bag you say Ja, bitte. It is also common to just say Bitte alone with a nod when someone asks if you want something, and it is understood as yes please. The opposite no thank you would be Nein, danke. Germans use bitte a lot more than English speakers use please, so Ja, bitte will make you sound very natural and polite. If you want to ask for something you flip it and say Bitte, for example Ein Bier, bitte means A beer, please. So remember Ja means yes, bitte means please, and together Ja, bitte is the perfect polite affirmative.
