In open or well-ventilated areas, argon does not make you tired because it is chemically inert and non-toxic. However, because argon is denser than air and odorless, if it leaks into a confined, unventilated space, it displaces oxygen. Breathing oxygen-depleted air causes hypoxia, which rapidly leads to dizziness, fatigue, confusion, unconsciousness, and asphyxiation without any initial warning sensations.
