You cannot completely flush out microplastics from the body with a specific detox, as microplastics are tiny plastic particles that can be ingested and inhaled and some may pass through digestive tract while smaller particles may translocate to tissues, and research on how body eliminates them is still early. Most larger microplastics ingested are likely excreted in stool within days, as digestive system moves them through gut, so having regular bowel movements with high-fiber diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and adequate hydration may help move particles out more quickly. However, nanoplastics smaller than 1 micron may cross gut barrier into blood and organs, and there is no proven method to remove them once in tissues. There is no medically approved detox, cleanse, or supplement that flushes microplastics, and claims about detox teas or charcoal flushing plastics lack evidence. Best approach is to reduce exposure by avoiding heating food in plastic, using glass or stainless steel containers, filtering water, reducing use of plastic tea bags and bottled water, and eating less highly processed food in plastic packaging. Supporting overall health with balanced diet, fiber, and hydration supports natural excretion via stool, but cannot guarantee complete removal. Consult healthcare provider for concerns.
