Marvel Studios appears to have found its White Queen. According to Deadline, which broke the news, Australian actress Samara Weaving has been cast as Emma Frost in the studio's upcoming X-Men reboot . Director Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts) and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige reportedly settled on Weaving earlier this week after a thorough search that involved a final round of auditions shortly after the July 4 holiday .

While Marvel has not officially commented on the casting , the report has been corroborated by multiple industry outlets, including Variety, Entertainment Weekly, and TheWrap . Representatives for Weaving also declined to comment when approached by Variety .

A Character With a Complex History

Emma Frost is one of the most powerful and layered characters in Marvel's mutant mythology. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist John Byrne, she first appeared in The Uncanny X-Men #129 in January 1980 .
