Who manufactures Leviton?

Leviton is manufactured by Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc., which is a privately held American company that designs and manufactures its own products. Leviton was founded in 1906 by Isidor Leviton and his father-in-law Aaron Schiffman in Brooklyn, New York, and remains family owned today, headquartered in Melville, New York, on Long Island. Leviton operates its own manufacturing facilities and has plants in the United States, Mexico, and other locations, though like many electrical manufacturers it has global supply chains. The company designs its wiring devices, including Decora switches and outlets, Decora Smart smart switches, lighting controls, and commercial and industrial electrical products, in its own engineering centers in the US. Leviton is one of the few major electrical device manufacturers that is still privately held and not part of a larger conglomerate like Schneider Electric or Eaton. It has over 115 years of history and is one of the largest employers in the electrical manufacturing sector in North America. Its products are made to UL standards and are widely available at Home Depot, Lowes, and electrical distributors. So Leviton is both the brand and the manufacturer, an American company that makes its own products.
