In Islamic theology, the only sin that Allah will never forgive if a person dies without repenting from it is shirk, which is the act of associating partners, idols, or false deities with God. According to explicit verses in the Quran, all other major and minor sins—ranging from theft and dishonesty to major transgressions—lie entirely within Allah's divine discretion, meaning He may choose to forgive them out of His infinite mercy or punish them according to justice. However, sincere repentance (tawbah) during one's lifetime wipes away even the sin of shirk, but dying while deliberately upholding polytheism closes the door to divine pardon.
