When you press the power button on your dryer and nothing happens, causes include no power, door switch failure, thermal fuse blown, control board failure, or child lock enabled. Troubleshooting steps for Samsung and other brands. First check power, electric dryer requires 240 volts, two circuit breakers, one may have tripped, reset both breakers, check outlet with multimeter, check power cord connection. Second check door, door must be fully closed, if door switch faulty dryer thinks door open and will not start, check latch. Third check child lock, if enabled press and hold Child Lock button for 3 seconds to disable. Fourth check thermal fuse blown due to overheating from clogged vent, dryer will not start if fuse blown, replace fuse $20 and clean vent. Fifth check control board failure, if display blank, board may have failed, costs $300 to $500. Sixth check start button not pressed firmly. Try power reset, unplug dryer for 10 minutes then plug back. If gas dryer, check gas supply. If still nothing, enter diagnostic mode by holding Mixed Load Bell and Wrinkle Prevent for 3 seconds to see error code. If you hear clicking but no start, motor or belt issue. Call technician if power good but still dead.
