The Port of Salalah is Oman's principal maritime transshipment hub and deep-water facility, situated strategically on the Arabian Sea within the southern Dhofar Governorate. Commencing commercial operations in late 1998, the port is uniquely positioned at the crossroads of major international trade lanes connecting Asia, Europe, and East Africa. Operated through a successful public-private partnership involving APM Terminals and local Omani entities, the facility encompasses both a world-class container terminal and an expansive general cargo terminal handling record-breaking volumes of dry bulk materials, industrial minerals, and containerized freight globally.
