Grambling State University has successfully educated and developed some of the greatest football legends in sports history who achieved high-level fame in the National Football League. Among its most famous professional alumni are Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive lineman Buck Buchanan, legendary cornerback Willie Brown, star receiver Charlie Joiner, defensive stalwart Everson Walls, and trailblazing quarterback Doug Williams, who made history as the first African American quarterback to start and win a Super Bowl, capturing MVP honors.
