What does ADT do when the alarm goes off involves a multi step monitoring and response process. When alarm sensor triggers, such as door sensor, motion detector, or glass break, your ADT alarm panel sends signal via cellular and or internet connection to one of ADT's monitoring centers, which are UL listed and operate 24 hours. Monitoring agent receives alert with your account information and type of alarm, burglary, fire, carbon monoxide, or panic. Agent attempts to verify alarm by calling primary contact number you provided, if you answer and give correct verbal passcode, they cancel dispatch as false alarm. If you do not answer, give wrong passcode, or confirm emergency, agent dispatches appropriate emergency responders, police for burglary, fire department for smoke, and also calls emergency contacts. ADT also sends push notification to ADT app. If you have ADT video verification, agent can view camera clip to confirm intruder. ADT continues monitoring until system disarmed. Average response time for agent to call is under 30 seconds. If alarm is fire or CO, ADT dispatches immediately without verification call. After event, ADT logs incident and follows up.
