What did Einstein say about Christianity? Einstein said many things about Christianity and religion, with nuanced views, he admired Jesus as historical figure and ethical teachings but did not believe in personal God of Christianity, identifying as agnostic or pantheist with Spinoza's God. Einstein said, I am a Jew, but I am enthralled by the luminous figure of the Nazarene, and said No one can read the Gospels without feeling actual presence of Jesus, His personality pulsates in every word. He praised Christian ethics and teachings of Jesus as beautiful, but rejected dogma, miracles, and idea of personal God who intervenes. Einstein said, I believe in Spinoza's God who reveals himself in harmony of all that exists, not in God who concerns himself with fates and actions of human beings. He criticized organized religion at times, saying The word God is product of human weakness. So Einstein respected Christianity ethics and Jesus figure, but did not believe in Christian theology of personal God, resurrection, or divinity of Jesus, viewing religion as childlike superstition while admiring moral teachings.
