People are saying generally positive things about Pergo Outlast XL laminate flooring, which is Pergo's popular laminate line sold at Home Depot, praised for durability, realistic wood looks, and spill protection. Pergo Outlast XL features SpillProtect technology that protects against spills for up to 24 hours, AC4 wear rating that resists scratches and dents, realistic wood embossing with detailed textures, PerfectFold click-lock installation, and attached underlayment, costing 2 to 3 dollars per square foot materials, making it good value laminate. Homeowners praise Outlast XL for easy DIY installation, good scratch resistance for pets and kids, realistic wood appearance that looks like real hardwood, and waterproof surface that handles spills better than traditional laminate, though not fully waterproof like LVP. Professional installers like Outlast XL for good milling quality and stable performance. Common complaints include that Outlast XL is still laminate with HDF core that can swell if water sits on seams for long time, despite SpillProtect, so not suitable for bathrooms, and that it can be noisy without good underlayment. Compared to Pergo Extreme LVP which is fully waterproof, Outlast XL is less water-resistant. Overall, owner satisfaction is high with Outlast XL rated as good quality laminate with good spill protection for living areas, with high ratings at Home Depot for durability and appearance.
