Mohawk and Pergo are not the same brand, but they are related as Mohawk Industries owns Pergo, so Pergo is a subsidiary brand within Mohawk Industries family, sharing manufacturing and technology but maintaining separate brand identities. Mohawk Industries, headquartered in Calhoun, Georgia, founded in 1878, is largest flooring manufacturer in world with revenue over 11 billion dollars, owning brands Mohawk, Pergo, Karastan, Daltile, and Marazzi. Mohawk Industries acquired Pergo in 2013 for 150 million dollars, so Pergo is now part of Mohawk Industries. Mohawk brand offers carpet like SmartStrand, luxury vinyl plank like SolidTech and PureTech, hardwood, laminate, and tile, while Pergo brand offers laminate flooring which Pergo invented in 1977 and luxury vinyl plank like Pergo Extreme, both with good quality and warranty. Mohawk and Pergo share manufacturing plants in Georgia, research and development, and warranty support, but are marketed as separate brands with different product lines and pricing, with Mohawk often slightly higher-end and Pergo focused on laminate heritage. So Mohawk and Pergo are not same brand, but Pergo is owned by Mohawk Industries, making them sister brands under same parent company, similar to Toyota and Lexus relationship.
