When your Badger 5 InSinkErator becomes stuck or jammed, first ensure the wall switch is turned off and unplug the unit from the electrical outlet to guarantee complete safety. Look underneath the sink and insert the service wrench (or a 1/4-inch hex key) into the hexagonal center hole located on the bottom of the motor housing. Gently rotate the wrench back and forth to manually free the wedged flywheel and dislodge any trapped food debris. Once the impellers spin freely, press the red reset button underneath, plug the unit back in, and flush with cold water.
