Yes, Lennox has become a fairly popular baby name in recent years, particularly in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia, as part of the trend of using Scottish surnames as first names. In the United States, Lennox for boys ranked around 300 to 400 in the top 1000 baby names in 2023 and 2024 according to Social Security Administration data, with about 800 to 1,000 baby boys named Lennox each year, making it moderately popular but not in the top 100, so it is distinctive but recognizable. For girls, Lennox is also used as a unisex name and ranked around 600 to 800 for girls, less popular but growing. Lennox has risen significantly in popularity since the early 2000s, when it was outside the top 1000, and its rise is attributed to its strong sound ending in x which is trendy like Maddox and Hendrix, its Scottish heritage meaning elm grove, and its cool nicknames Len, Lenny, and Nox. In Scotland, Lennox is more common as a surname. In Australia and the UK, Lennox is also moderately popular. So Lennox is considered a popular modern baby name that is trending upward, appealing to parents seeking a distinctive Scottish-inspired name that is not overly common but is increasingly recognized.
