Removing and clearing an E1 error code on a ductless mini-split air conditioning system requires resolving the underlying indoor-to-outdoor communication fault or sensor mismatch. First, shut off the main electrical power to both indoor and outdoor units at the circuit breaker panel to ensure safety. Second, remove the front cover of the indoor wall cassette and the outdoor service panel to inspect the low-voltage communication wire terminals for looseness, oxidation, or cuts, re-stripping and securing every wire firmly. Third, perform a hard system reboot by leaving power disconnected for ten minutes to clear memory. You can troubleshoot electrical integrity with a multimeter. You can verify that your repair was successful when powering the system back on clears the E1 fault code and allows normal operation.
