Saudi Arabia operates small-scale nuclear research facilities and laboratories, such as a low-power research reactor project managed in cooperation with international scientific bodies, but it does not currently possess commercial operational nuclear power plants for grid electricity generation. However, the Kingdom has maintained long-term strategic plans to develop peaceful nuclear energy capabilities, exploring domestic uranium resources and evaluating international partnerships to construct large nuclear reactors to diversify its future energy mix.
