Pouring a thin two-inch layer of standard concrete over existing old concrete is generally not recommended because thin layers lack structural integrity. Without sufficient thickness, the new layer will easily crack, spall, and delaminate under normal traffic. If a thin resurfacing is required, specialized polymer-modified concrete resurfacers designed specifically for thin applications must be utilized instead.
