Emma Willis unveils the £29 M&S serum promising younger-looking skin in four weeks
Emma Willis, the newly announced host of Strictly Come Dancing, has been revealed as the new face of M&S's own-brand skincare collection, Formula. The 50-year-old presenter, who is also known for hosting The Voice and Love Is Blind, has partnered with the high-street giant to front their scientifically backed range, which includes a standout £29 serum promising visible results within a month.
At an event celebrating her new ambassadorship, Willis, who is married to Busted bassist Matt Willis, spoke candidly about her skincare journey, her past as a "sun worshipper," and the daily habits that have helped her achieve her current glowing complexion.
The £29 Serum and M&S Formula Range
Willis has thrown her weight behind the Formula range, praising it for not overcomplicating skincare. Her top picks from the collection include The Ultra Peptide Eye Cream (£20), which she says "doesn't sting," and The Ultra Peptide Neck & Décolletage Cream (£19.50), which she uses to address her self-confessed "crepey neck".
However, the star product that has garnered significant attention is the £29 serum, which is designed to deliver younger-looking skin in just four weeks. The Formula range, which is M&S's own-brand skincare collection, aims to demystify beauty with straightforward, effective products.
Willis admitted she was initially hesitant when M&S approached her to become the face of the brand. "I wanted a meeting to make sure I knew and understood the range," she said. Once she was introduced to the collection, however, she was fully on board. "We've all heard the buzzwords, but most people just want to know what something does and whether it works," she explained.
The 4 Daily Habits Behind Her Glowing Skin
Despite her glowing appearance, Willis has been refreshingly honest about the effort required to maintain her skin at 50, particularly given her history as a "sun worshipper". Here are the four key habits she credits for her transformation.
1. A Dedicated Skincare Routine
Willis has admitted her skincare routine was "non-existent" in her thirties, confessing she "coasted through and never even took her mascara off". Everything changed when she hit her forties and noticed her skin "heading south." Now, she is diligent with her skincare, using peptide-rich creams and serums from the Formula range to address specific concerns like the skin on her neck.
2. Daily Collagen and Targeted Supplements
To support her skin from within, Willis is a firm believer in supplementation. She takes Absolute Collagen supplements, adding the powder to her morning coffee, writing on Instagram: "My day does not begin until I've added my @absolutecollagen powder in my morning coffee". She also incorporates Bare Biology's Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K2 Spray, Thorne's Omega 3 with COQ10, and Zenement's Red Yeast Rice Capsules into her daily routine.
3. A Sugar-Free Diet
Willis has also credited a major dietary change for her improved skin and overall wellbeing: going sugar-free. She previously told Women's Health that eliminating sugar from her diet has made a "massive difference," leading to better sleep and leaving her "less puffy". She described how the change, which she made after turning 45, was a pivotal switch in her mentality.
4. Prioritising Strength Training and Wellness
The TV host is passionate about fitness and prioritises her physical health for the sake of longevity. She has told Women's Health that she "schedule[s] time during the day to show up for my body and mind by doing boxing and reformer Pilates". Her personal trainer, Rob Solly, has revealed their sessions are "predominantly strength-based, with plyometrics and brief periods of high heart rates," combining exercises like skipping, boxing, rowing, and weights.
At 50, Willis is more focused than ever on her long-term health, frequently visiting wellness retreats like Mayrlife in Austria for health analysis, blood tests, and treatments such as lymphatic drainage and craniosacral therapy. "I have always been obsessed with health and the older I get the longer I wanna live," she has said.
A Candid Look at Ageing
Willis has been refreshingly open about the insecurities that come with ageing, particularly concerning her neck. "There's a mirror in my house that has the worst lighting. Every time I go near it, all I can see are the stringy bits in my neck," she lamented at the Formula event. However, she uses this self-awareness to fuel her skincare routine, embracing products that genuinely work.
She has also been honest about her past habits, including her love of sunbathing, which she acknowledges has likely contributed to skin damage that she is now working to reverse. Her approach to skincare and wellness is grounded in science and results, making her a relatable advocate for the M&S Formula range.
