When nothing shows up on a Honeywell thermostat display screen, it usually points to a lack of electrical power or depleted batteries. Honeywell digital and programmable models typically require either fresh alkaline batteries or a steady 24-volt electrical supply from the indoor HVAC unit via the common (C) wire. If the batteries are exhausted or inserted backward, the screen will go completely dark. If the unit is hardwired and the screen goes blank suddenly, it is often due to a tripped circuit breaker or a blown low-voltage control fuse on your indoor furnace control board caused by a power fluctuation. Furthermore, a loose connection where the thermostat faceplate meets the wall mounting sub-base will break the power circuit. You can troubleshoot by changing batteries and checking fuses. You can verify resolution when the display turns on.
