Why your GE dryer is not drying your clothes is usually due to clogged lint filter or blocked vent hose that restricts airflow, or failed heating component, not because dryer motor failed. Most common cause is lint screen clogged after each load not cleaned, or vent hose behind dryer clogged with lint and outside vent cap blocked with lint and bird nest, causing dryer to overheat and thermal fuse to blow at 10 to 25 dollars, or causing long dry times with clothes damp after cycle, clean lint screen after each load and clean vent hose and outside cap yearly. Second, heating element burned out in electric GE dryers like GTD42EASJWW or gas valve coils or igniter failed in gas models like GTD65GBMRWS, causing dryer to tumble with no heat, clothes still wet, test heating element for continuity and replace at 30 to 80 dollars. Third, overloading beyond 3/4 full prevents hot air circulation, clothes in center stay wet, dry smaller loads. Fourth, wrong cycle selection like using Air Fluff or Delicate with low heat for heavy towels, use Normal or Heavy Duty with high heat. Fifth, moisture sensor bars inside drum dirty from dryer sheets coating sensor, clean sensor bars with rubbing alcohol so sensor detects wet clothes correctly. Sixth, washer not spinning properly, leaving clothes too wet before dryer, check washer spin cycle. To fix, clean lint filter, disconnect vent and run empty cycle to test airflow.
