There is no dedicated physical reset button on your GE dryer like a small red button you press, but you can reset it through power cycling and control panel button combinations that clear error codes and control glitches. GE dryers including electric models like GTD42EASJWW and GTD65EBMRWS and gas models like GTD65GBMRWS use electronic control board that can be reset. The universal reset method is hard power reset: press Power or Cancel button to stop any running cycle, open door, then unplug dryer from wall outlet or turn off circuit breaker that supplies it, for electric dryers turn off both breakers at panel as they use 240 volts, wait at least 5 to 10 minutes to allow main control board and display board capacitors to fully discharge and clear memory and error codes like PF for power failure, some technicians recommend pressing and holding Start button for 5 seconds while unplugged to drain residual charge, then plug back in. Dryer will beep and may display PF, press any button to clear. Second method is reset thermal fuse that may have blown from overheating due to clogged vent, located on blower housing or heater housing at back, if fuse blown, dryer will not start, replace fuse at 10 to 25 dollars and clean vent. For control lock reset, press and hold Extended Tumble or Lock button for 3 seconds. A reset clears electronic glitches but does not fix mechanical failures like failed heating element.
