A Delta shower faucet failing to deliver hot water is usually caused by an incorrectly adjusted temperature limit stop ring on the cartridge stem or a clogged pressure-balancing spool. If the plastic limit stop was set too restrictively during installation, it prevents the handle from rotating far enough toward the hot side. Alternatively, hard water mineral scale can jam the internal pressure-balancing spool. Adjusting the limit stop ring or cleaning out mineral debris inside the cartridge typically resolves the temperature issue.
