Replacing the cartridge in a Delta Monitor shower requires turning off the main water supply, removing the handle set screw, and pulling off the aesthetic sleeve. Unscrew the retaining nut or remove the horseshoe-shaped clip securing the valve, and pull the old cartridge straight out of the brass body. Remove and replace the two small rubber seats and springs located at the base of the valve, insert the new genuine Delta cartridge in the correct orientation, and reassemble the exterior trim securely.
