In the context of professional football, Shanghai Port FC (formerly Shanghai SIPG) shares intense local and national rivalries, most notably with Shanghai Shenhua, creating the fierce "Shanghai Derby" that captivates Chinese football fans. Additionally, in national competition terms, they frequently contend against powerhouse clubs like Guangzhou FC and Beijing Guoan for dominance in the Chinese Super League, while in the maritime shipping industry, SIPG competes regionally with neighboring mega-ports like Ningbo-Zhoushan.
