The Port of Shanghai is internationally recognized by several alternative descriptors, including Port Shanghai, and its operations are heavily tied to its famous offshore component known as the Yangshan Deep-Water Port. Historically and logistically, it functions as the central hub of the Yangtze River Delta port cluster, serving as the world's busiest container transshipment nexus while being operated exclusively by its corporate identity, SIPG.
