Electricity generation in Oman is primarily supplied by an interconnected network of modern, high-efficiency natural gas-fired thermal power plants, independent water and power producers (IWPPs), and a growing complement of utility-scale solar photovoltaic farms. These generation assets feed electricity into the Main Interconnected System (MIS) and localized rural grids, powering residential, commercial, and heavy industrial hubs.
