Electricity generation in Oman is predominantly driven by high-efficiency natural gas-fired power plants utilizing open-cycle and combined-cycle gas turbine technologies. In recent years, the Sultanate has actively diversified its energy generation mix by integrating utility-scale renewable energy projects, including large photovoltaic solar parks and wind energy farms, to reduce carbon emissions and conserve natural gas reserves for industrial feedstock.
