Pushmatic circuit breakers, originally made by Bulldog and later by ITE Pushmatic and Siemens, are no longer manufactured as new products, so you cannot buy brand new OEM Pushmatic breakers from Home Depot or Lowes, but you can find used, refurbished, and aftermarket replacements through specialty suppliers. Sources include electrical supply houses that specialize in obsolete breakers, online retailers like Amazon, eBay, and specialty breaker websites such as Bay Breakers, Connecticut Electric, and other obsolete breaker suppliers that sell refurbished or aftermarket Pushmatic compatible breakers. These replacement breakers typically cost 40 to 150 dollars per breaker, much more expensive than modern Square D or Eaton breakers that cost 10 to 30 dollars, due to scarcity. Some sellers offer Connecticut Electric UBITBA replacement breakers marketed as compatible with Pushmatic panels. However, electricians strongly advise against spending money on expensive replacement Pushmatic breakers because Pushmatic panels themselves are outdated, lack modern safety features, have limited capacity, and should be replaced entirely rather than repairing. The recommended solution is to replace the entire Pushmatic panel with a new modern panel from Square D QO, Eaton BR or CH, or Siemens, which provides new breakers, modern safety, and meets current codes for 1,500 to 3,500 dollars installed.
