Under the leadership of head coach Scott Drew, the Bears put on a historic, dominant performance in the national title game hosted in Indianapolis, Indiana, decisively defeating the previously undefeated Gonzaga Bulldogs by a score of 86–70 to capture the first men's basketball national title in the history of the university.
