When cleaning laminate flooring, you must avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive scouring powders, bleach, ammonia, and excessive water. Most importantly, never use a steam mop, because the high-pressure hot steam forces moisture directly into the tight joints of the planks, causing the wood-composite fiberboard core to swell, warp, and ruin permanently. Additionally, avoid soaking the floor with dripping wet mops or using oil-based soaps and waxes that leave a sticky, dull film residue.
