Using standard Windex or typical commercial glass cleaners on natural marble can cause serious damage over time because many formulations contain ammonia or harsh synthetic solvents that break down the protective surface sealer. Once the sealant is stripped away, the alkaline and chemical ingredients can etch, dull, and discolor the polished stone surface, leaving behind unsightly cloudy spots and making the porous marble highly susceptible to staining and moisture absorption from everyday spills.
