When discussing smartphones and electronic devices, "jack" does not usually refer to slang, but rather to the physical hardware port—most notably the audio headphone jack (such as the traditional 3.5mm headphone socket). In technical terms, it is the female electrical connector interface designed to receive a corresponding male plug to transmit audio signals, power, or data streams between devices.
