Exterior in a car means the outside part of the car, the outer body, outer shell, outer surfaces, and outward appearance, as opposed to interior which is inside cabin. Exterior includes body panels like hood, doors, fenders, roof, trunk, bumpers, paint color and finish, windows, windshield, lights like headlights and taillights, mirrors, wheels, tires, grille, and trim details. For example, car exterior color is the paint color outside, such as red, black, or silver, exterior condition refers to how outside looks, whether it has scratches, dents, rust, or is clean and shiny. Exterior features are features on outside like sunroof, spoiler, chrome accents, and door handles. In car sales, exterior is described to convey curb appeal, as in sleek exterior design, aerodynamic exterior, or sporty exterior. Exterior maintenance includes washing, waxing, polishing, and protecting paint from weather. So exterior in a car means everything on outside of vehicle that you see from outside, its outer look and outer parts, opposite of interior which is seats, dashboard, and cabin inside. When someone says check car exterior, they mean inspect outside for damage and appearance.
