Tuscany is primarily served by two major international aviation hubs: Florence Airport (Peretola Airport), located very close to the heart of Florence and ideal for travelers heading straight to the regional capital, and Pisa International Airport (Galileo Galilei Airport), which acts as the largest gateway handling a higher volume of international and low-cost carrier flights. Additionally, smaller regional landing strips or secondary aerodromes exist for private aviation, but these two main airports handle almost all commercial passenger traffic.
