If your sink aerator won't screw onto the spout, it is usually caused by mismatched thread sizes, cross-threading, or residual mineral scale stuck in the internal threads. Never force it with excessive torque, as this will strip the soft brass or plastic threads. Unscrew it completely, check that the thread sizes match your faucet, clean out any white crust with a wire brush, and align the threads straight before turning clockwise. Verification: Screw the aerator on smoothly by hand until it seats snugly against the rubber washer.
