Is Zinsser a paint or primer? Zinsser is primarily known as primer brand, but also makes paints. Zinsser's core products are primers like Bulls Eye 1-2-3 water-based all-purpose, Cover Stain oil-based, B-I-N shellac-based, which are specialty primers for adhesion and stain and odor blocking. However, Zinsser also makes paints such as AllCoat Exterior and AllCoat Interior which are multi-surface paints that act as primer and topcoat in one, and Perma-White mold-resistant interior paint for bathrooms and kitchens, and other specialty coatings. So answer is Zinsser makes both primers and paints, but is best known and most respected for its primers, especially for stain blocking and adhesion on difficult surfaces.
