There is no dedicated physical reset button on your GE fridge like a small red button you press, but you can reset it through power cycling and control panel button combinations that clear error codes and control glitches. GE refrigerators, including models GFE26JYMFS, GSS25GSHSS, and GTE18GMHES, use electronic control board that can be reset. The universal reset method is hard power reset: press and hold Power or Lock button to stop any ice making, then unplug refrigerator from wall outlet behind fridge or turn off circuit breaker that supplies it, wait at least 5 to 10 minutes to allow main control board and display board capacitors to fully discharge and clear memory and error codes like PF for power failure or temperature flashing, some technicians recommend opening doors for 30 seconds to discharge, then plug back in. Refrigerator will beep and may show PF or flashing temperatures, press any button to clear and reset temperatures to 37 degrees fridge and 0 degrees freezer. Second method is control panel reset: press and hold Water and Light buttons for 3 seconds to unlock control lock. For ice maker reset: locate ice maker on/off switch or press and hold ice maker test button for 3 seconds. A reset clears electronic glitches but does not fix mechanical failures like failed compressor or fan motor that require part replacement.
