There is no reset button on garage door itself, as garage door is mechanical assembly of panels, springs, rollers, and tracks with no electronics, but there is a reset or Learn button on garage door opener unit that controls door. The reset button is typically the Learn button located on back or side of opener motor unit hanging from ceiling, near antenna wire and light cover, often under light lens, and colored yellow, purple, red, orange, or green depending on model and year, such as LiftMaster and Chamberlain. Pressing and holding Learn button for 6 to 10 seconds until LED goes out erases all remotes and keypads and resets opener memory, after which you reprogram remotes by pressing Learn briefly and pressing remote within 30 seconds. Some openers have small red or black reset button near Learn button that resets logic board when pressed. To fully reset system after power outage or malfunction, unplug opener from power outlet for 30 seconds then plug back in, which resets board. Wall consoles may have lock button that can be held for 5 seconds to reset lock mode that disables remotes. Emergency release cord with red handle on trolley allows manual operation but is not reset button. Refer to opener manual for exact location of Learn or reset button for your model, as it varies, and ensure power is on when resetting. If reset fails, logic board may need professional replacement.
