Whether there is a battery in wall mounted garage door opener depends on type of opener and wall console, as most wall mounted openers and wall consoles do not have battery but some have battery backup or battery in remote. Wall mounted garage door openers like LiftMaster 8500W and 87504 jackshaft openers that mount on wall beside door, not ceiling, have battery backup option that uses 12-volt battery to allow one or two open and close cycles during power outage, and battery is located inside opener unit or in separate battery compartment and needs replacement every 2 to 3 years costing 30 to 50 dollars. Wall consoles or wall buttons that are wired to opener typically do not have battery, as they are powered by low-voltage wiring from opener unit, so they work without battery as long as opener has power. However, wireless wall consoles that are battery powered do have battery, usually AA or coin cell, that lasts 2 to 5 years and needs replacement when console stops working. Garage door opener remotes and keypads that mount on wall outside garage have batteries that need replacement. If your wall mounted opener beeps during power outage, battery backup is active and battery may be low. To check, look for battery compartment on opener or wall console. For wired wall button with no response, check wiring rather than battery, as no battery inside.
