Is AIIB owned by China?
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is not solely owned by China, although China is its largest shareholder and primary capital contributor. The multilateral development bank functions as an independent international organization governed by a multi-national board representing over one hundred approved member states from across the globe. While China holds approximately twenty-six to twenty-eight percent of the total voting shares and maintains considerable founding influence, governance power is distributed among all member nations, including India, Russia, Germany, and numerous other participating countries that hold collective voting and operational authority.
