Yes, the vast majority of Johns Manville insulation sold for homes does contain fiberglass, and fiberglass is its primary residential product. Johns Manville ComfortTherm batts and rolls, Climate Pro blown-in fiberglass, and Spider custom spray-in fiberglass are all made from spun glass fibers bonded with a formaldehyde-free bio-based binder. These products are made from sand and over 50 percent recycled glass content melted at high temperatures. However, not all Johns Manville insulation contains fiberglass, as the company makes several product families. Johns Manville MinWool is mineral wool insulation made from natural volcanic rock and slag, not glass, and is used for soundproofing and fire-rated walls. Johns Manville AP Foil-Faced and CI Max are rigid foam boards made from polyisocyanurate foam, not fiberglass. Johns Manville Corbond spray foam is polyurethane foam. So while fiberglass is the most common type you will find at Lowe's or Home Depot under the Johns Manville name, the brand also sells mineral wool and foam products that do not contain fiberglass. All current Johns Manville fiberglass insulation is certified asbestos-free and formaldehyde-free and is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions. The fiberglass itself is inert once installed behind drywall and does not off-gas, though it can cause temporary skin and respiratory irritation during installation if you do not wear gloves and a mask.
