Luxury high-end custom homes generally avoid standard luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring in primary formal spaces, preferring authentic natural materials like wide-plank European white oak, American walnut, or custom natural stone slabs. However, high-end builders and homeowners occasionally utilize premium rigid-core LVP in specific functional areas prone to moisture or heavy wear—such as finished basements, luxury pool houses, laundry rooms, or high-end rental properties—where waterproof resilience is mandatory. Nonetheless, traditional solid and engineered hardwood remains the definitive flooring standard for luxury properties.
