Do diabetics get free dental care?

In the United States, dental care is often entirely separate from medical insurance, and diabetic patients must rely on their dental insurance plans, out-of-pocket payments, or specific state-funded programs for low-income residents, none of which offer "free" care simply due to a diabetes diagnosis. While it is medically recommended that patients with diabetes maintain excellent oral hygiene and visit the dentist more frequently, the financial responsibility for these visits remains with the patient or their insurance provider.
