By the dramatic conclusion of M. Night Shyamalan's thriller Trap, Cooper manages to evade immediate federal custody and escapes the heavily guarded concert arena. Throughout the narrative, he uses extreme manipulation, resourcefulness, and hostages to navigate the massive FBI sting operation. However, while he physically escapes the venue into the outside world, his double life is entirely dismantled, his family learns the horrifying truth about his identity, and the final moments of the film strongly imply that his freedom is short-lived as law enforcement continues closing in on him.
