A shower faucet dripping continuously when the handle is turned completely off is caused by a worn-out ceramic disc cartridge, degraded rubber O-rings, or mineral scale sediment trapped inside the mixing valve body. Over time, daily mechanical rotation and abrasive hard water minerals wear down these delicate internal waterproof seals, allowing incoming water pressure to bypass the closed seal and leak out. Verification: Shut off the main water supply, disassemble the handle, and inspect the internal cartridge for damage.
