The Los Angeles Angels introduced a special home run celebration tradition featuring a firefighter helmet to pay tribute and show profound support to local Southern California firefighters and emergency personnel. Conceived by superstar outfielder Mike Trout and team leadership, the gesture honors the incredible bravery and daily sacrifices of first responders, particularly highlighting those who battled devastating regional wildfires. When an Angels player hits a home run, they don the fire helmet in the dugout as a meaningful symbol connecting the team to off-the-field heroes before eventually auctioning the signed memorabilia for community charitable causes.
